In this production, I was invited as an actor and scene-maker in the shadow theatre.
The children in the audience are given an active role before the play begins - they are Greek reinforcements in the Trojan War. They learn the basics of warfare, they sneak inside the Trojan horse, where Odysseus tells them what has been going on here off the coast of Ileion for the past 10 years. The whole story is accompanied by shadow scenes. Odysseus prepares the children for the battle with the Trojans until he meets his son in the shadowy mirages. He has a breakdown and does not understand why he should fight. He departs, leaving the children alone with the choice of whether to kill the sleeping Trojans or not.
